In his Address to the People of Kazakhstan on September 21, 2021, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev noted:
"Second-tier banks do not invest in small projects, especially in rural areas. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize the potential of microfinance organizations. They operate locally, know their clients, their businesses, and capabilities."
In order to implement the President's Address, the Association of Microfinance Organizations of Kazakhstan (AMFOK) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kazpost JSC to expand microcrediting in rural areas.
Kazpost JSC has a wide network of postal branches in rural areas (3,172 branches). Considering that the rural population of Kazakhstan accounts for 41%, cooperation between MFOs and Kazpost JSC will allow for expanding coverage of microbusiness entities operating in rural regions.
As of today, Kazpost JSC has 3,172 postal branches and can provide the following services for MFOs:
acceptance of payments;
agency services;
settlement and cash services;
internet banking;
issuance and servicing of payment cards for individuals and legal entities;
POS mobile — a mobile application that allows any smartphone with an NFC module to be turned into a POS terminal without additional equipment, providing convenience for accepting contactless payments for goods, work, or services;
PayPost internet acquiring;
salary projects;
online transfer of funds to any payment card and online cash withdrawal at postal branches.
Kazpost JSC carries a social responsibility by providing customers with a full range of financial, postal, and agency services.
Therefore, sharing common socially-oriented goals, we hope for effective cooperation that will benefit the citizens of our country, including those living in rural areas.
