AMFOK took part in the II Summit of Microfinance Organizations of Central Asian countries titled «PARTNERSHIP AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT», organized by our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
The main agenda of the summit focused on socially responsible lending and the development of ESG principles.
This summit is the result of the unification of MFI Associations of Central Asian countries, aimed at implementing management standards in MFIs that ensure the involvement of companies in addressing environmental, social, and governance issues.
The foundation for the unification of MFI Associations under a common agenda was laid in 2022 with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the holding of the first Central Asian MFI Summit in Almaty.
MFI Associations aim to develop a transparent and socially oriented microfinance market that meets ESG standards and is focused on supporting small and medium-sized businesses, increasing business activity, and improving the welfare of citizens.
