A free financial literacy training for women entrepreneurs was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk

With the support of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (project «Fingramota.kz») and the «School of Financial Literacy No.1», «Solva» continues its series of training sessions «Women and Money» on its educational platform «Women’s Business». The goal of the program is to improve financial literacy among women entrepreneurs in order to stimulate the development of small businesses in the regions.

A new training session, attended by around 100 women entrepreneurs, was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Participants received gifts and had the opportunity to take part in prize draws.

«Solva» pays great attention to supporting women in business, recognizing strong demand for its digital financial products among women entrepreneurs. 70% of microloans ($85 million) in «Solva»’s portfolio have been issued to women. Based on this data, as well as customer demand, the company decided to go beyond traditional financial solutions and created a platform for non-financial support for women business owners, including financial literacy training and other educational products.

The «Women and Money» trainings have been conducted since 2022 as part of the «Fingramota.kz» project. In 2022, the program covered 5 cities and settlements: Astana, Karaganda, Turkestan, Shymkent, and Shelek. The goal is to address the lack of basic financial knowledge among women entrepreneurs, helping them manage their businesses more effectively and improve living standards in the regions. Training sessions are held in Kazakh and Russian, participation is free, and women only need to register. In 2023, trainings have already taken place in Taldykorgan, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Atyrau, Aktau, and Ust-Kamenogorsk, with more events planned in additional cities.

«Modern women are active participants in Kazakhstan’s economy and are not afraid to start and develop their own businesses. However, according to our clients, one of the key barriers is the lack of quality knowledge about financial management, which can lead to business failure even with strong potential.

At our trainings, women entrepreneurs find practical answers on managing finances, budgeting, and using credit effectively. We thank the Agency and our partners, the “School of Financial Literacy No.1”, for supporting this initiative», commented Anna Maksimova, CEO of JSC «OnlineKazFinance» («Solva»).

Trainings are conducted with participation from the «School of Financial Literacy No.1». Its head Akzhunis Brasilova and deputy Zarima Atabayeva acted as speakers and mentors. The organization has conducted over 500 trainings and served more than 2,000 clients.

«The trainings have generated strong interest, showing real demand for practical financial knowledge not only among experienced entrepreneurs but also beginners. About 800 participants have already gained useful financial skills. We are proud to be part of this initiative and believe it will significantly contribute to SME development», noted Akzhunis Brasilova.
