"Exchange of Experience: Effective Self-Regulation Practices in the Microfinance Market"
On December 13, 2024, a meeting was held at the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market with the participation of representatives of SRO «MiR» (Russia) and specialists from Kazakhstan’s microfinance market. The topic of the meeting was the exchange of experience in the creation and development of self-regulatory organizations (SROs), including key aspects:
Advantages and challenges of transitioning from voluntary to mandatory membership in SROs;
Functions, reporting, and supervision of SRO activities;
Financial aspects and government support;
Best practices that can be applied in Kazakhstan.
Experts discussed current challenges and prospects for implementing self-regulation, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between market participants and regulatory authorities to enhance transparency and protect consumer rights.
